NCT

Taeil of NCT has exited the group following an accusation of an unspecified sexual crime, according to a statement from SM Entertainment. Stay tuned for more details.

Tetris Kelly: Taeil is departing from K-pop group NCT amid allegations of a sexual crime. SM Entertainment has confirmed his departure, and we're diving into the details of this surprising development.

NCT 127: As many of you may have noticed, the group isn’t performing as a full nine-member unit at the moment.

Tetris Kelly: NCT 127 was recently in our studio without Taeil, discussing their adjustment to performing with fewer members. Today, we learned of a significant change in the group’s lineup. SM Entertainment released a statement announcing that Taeil will be leaving the boy band due to his involvement in a “criminal case related to a sexual crime.” The label emphasized the gravity of the situation, noting that they had decided Taeil could no longer participate in group activities. They also mentioned that Taeil is fully cooperating with the ongoing police investigation.

This update comes almost a year after Taeil, 30, was injured in a motorcycle accident, which required surgery and a hiatus. Last October, SM Entertainment had reported that Taeil needed "sufficient treatment and stability" post-surgery. Taeil has been a part of NCT since their pre-debut training in 2015. We will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available.
