Previous New Zealand all-rounder Corey Anderson has been named to the US crew for the T20 World Cup in June, USA Cricket has reported.

 

Anderson was important for the New Zealand group, who lost to Australia in the last of the 50-overs World Cup in 2015 and furthermore played two T20 World Cups for them.

 

The 33-year-old made his debut for his adopted country in the home T20 series against Canada last month after last playing for New Zealand in 2018.

 

Monank Patel, a wicketkeeper and batsman, has been retained as captain of the 15-member team by the tournament's co-hosts.

 

A similar group will play three T20 Internationals against Bangladesh in Houston prior to taking on Canada in the June 1 World Cup opener in Dallas.
